Ruth Bemo is a motivational speaker and Special Education Needs advocate and teacher with over 10 years of experience. She is also a married mother of three kids.
Born in Cameroon, her passion for disability inclusion and advocacy, especially for children living with disabilities pushed her into furthering her education in the area of Special Needs Education for children with disabilities. She witnessed how children with disabilities were constantly being excluded from their regular classroom as a result of their condition.
After obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Botany from the University of Dschang, she felt that something was still lacking in her. Her burning desire, passion and empathy to serve children with special needs in an inclusive school system grew. In 2009, she obtained a Certificate in Special Education from the Government Teachers Training College, Buea. This Certification paved the way for her to be able to teach children with disabilities in an inclusive classroom system with ease. Shortly after her graduation, she began working with a government school in many different capacities serving children and young adults with special needs. While in this government institution, she taught Autistic Support and Life Skills Support to both elementary and high school aged students.
